How Mobriver develops its products

Mobriver takes its own products from a practical requirement through development, prototyping and manufacture. The process is flexible: the product determines the method, not the other way around.

This page describes Mobriver’s own product-development process. It is not an offer of contract design or manufacturing services.

The process

From need to finished product

The exact route varies by product, but the same practical checks guide development and production.

  1. Define the practical need

    Each product begins with a specific use, fit or compatibility requirement. The intended task guides the design rather than a particular manufacturing method.

  2. Develop the product in CAD

    Dimensions, interfaces and functional details are developed in CAD so that the product can be reviewed and prepared for production.

  3. Prototype and assess

    Prototypes are used where appropriate to check fit, handling and function before a design is prepared for manufacture.

  4. Select the manufacturing method

    3D printing supports prototyping and some small-batch products. Other products may use machining, moulding or a manufacturing partner as requirements and volumes change.

  5. Prepare, supply and support

    The finished product is documented with the specifications, compatibility information and guidance customers need to choose and use it correctly.
